Robert began his adult life by following his grandfather’s footsteps and joining the US Navy. He spent 8 years as a Crash and Salvage Aircraft Firefighter. In August 2012, his whole world was turned upside down when his father fell victim to Veteran Suicide.
He decided to leave the military under honorable conditions to come home and help his mom piece their lives back together. In the Spring of 2013, he decided to go back to school and start a whole new path for his life. He attended Columbia College in Columbia, CA studying Forestry and Natural Resources.
This was a big turn in his life and he really fell in love with nature. Before graduating he was offered a position with the Bureau of Land Management working in Wildlife, Fisheries, Watershed Surveys, as well as Timber, and Silviculture. It was not long before he worked his way up and started Wildland Firefighting as well. He fought fires all over the United States. During this time, he learned and perfected his skill for felling large hazardous trees. Sometimes on fire.
This ignited (get it?! Fire??) a passion and love for felling trees. These life changes, the ups, and the downs led Robert right where he was always destined to be, starting Peffer's Tree Service. He is lucky to have the support of his amazing wife and the 3 children she blessed him with. Landon, Braelynn, and Loxley are the biggest motivators for Robert's hard-working attitude. He is determined to leave behind a great legacy like his grandfather, Robert L. Peffer.
To know him was to love him, Robert only hopes he can live up to such a great name! Due to his family’s military history, Peffers Tree Service supports Veterans Suicide Awareness with monetary donations to Active Heroes on behalf of his father, Douglas James Peffer.
